september date: at the pumpkin farm.

beginning in august, [J] & I made a pact: each month we would take turns planning a date. we’ve lived together for almost two years. so we have a lot of together time, but life gets busy ..and it’s nice to have set aside me + him time to look forward to. I took the reins on date #1 – an italian dinner, a walk through the city, and a little pub hopping.

[J] took on september. and to be honest, I was nervous. the end of the month was drawing near and no word. as always, he came through. on september 26th, he got me up at 8AM, told me to dress comfortably, and we were off …

to a pumpkin farm.

I was beyond excited. what a fun date + the best way to kick off fall.

first, we played on all of the fun kiddie props.

[an over-sized rocking chair].

[his].

[hers].

we entered & destroyed the cornstalk maze.

we took a hayride out to the patch. & hand-picked our own pumpkins.

the one I picked was a tad dirty.

so I had to give it a little scrub-a-dub-dub when we got back to the farm.

and last but NOT LEAST  …

an exotic petting zoo.

at a pumpkin farm? in the middle of nowhere illinois? who flippin’ knew. not us. but…

we were [so, so, so, so] excited.

camels. a giraffe. two black bears. three tigers. a porcupine. + many more.

and [J]’s favorite of the day …

let’s just say it’s going to be slightly difficult to top [J]’s september date.

but I’m up for the challenge.

thanks love – you planned an amazing date! ♥

[“the week in photos” is up & ready for friday. woo hoo – the weekend!!]
