date nights are important.
regardless of how much alone time you spend with your significant other …there is something completely different about setting aside a time for just the two of you. it can be as simple as renting a movie, ordering take-out, and sharing a bottle of wine on the couch. orrrrr a night on the town. the trick is to planning it. [J] & I live together, so time spent on the couch is not out of the norm …but by putting a plan in place: excitement builds. & it’s no longer a meeting spot. BUT a solid, scheduled plan for a date.
saturday night we got fancied up. caught the train. & hit the city.
I took the reins on this date night. & made dinner reservations @ buca di beppo. it’s such a fun, family-style italian restaurant. & [J] has never been.
on our way to our table, the hostess took us on a tour of the restaurant ..straight through the kitchen. and all of it’s delicious smells.
we kicked off dinner with cocktails. & the chopped antipasto salad. scrumptious!!
spicy chicken rigatoni + one 1/2lb meatball [a [J] request].
after dinner, we took a stroll. [from river north to old town]. I love chicago. and seeing how much the cityscape changes from one block to another. plus holding hands, people watching, and just enjoying ourselves.
once in old town. we wandered into a pub.
I have made the executive decision that [J] & I will be switching off each month, taking turns planning a date. boooo ya! since I picked the restaurant & made the reservation this time – mr. [J] gets to kick off our monthly date for september. [if you’re listening love, start planning ;)].
I recommend this for every couple.
I love [J] & I’s every day relationship. but I also value our time set aside for dates. it’s a break from ‘real life’ …for us to laugh, have fun, and re-charge that spark. just him & I.
that is all. for today.
happy tuesday everybody.
