experiment: greek yogurt edition – test #1

Introducing: Yoplait Greek (2x Protein of the Leading Yogurt)

flavor: Honey Vanilla

Please note: I am a beginner in the world of Greek yogurt. I have attempted many times before, but have never truly indulged. Instead I usually head for the YoCrunch (& dump in some M&M’s or Reese’s Pieces). Greek yogurt is not known for being sweet, but rather sour, extra thick, and jam-packed full of protein. [Goodbye candy yogurt, until next time].

here we go ...

The stats:

  • $1.20 for 6 ounces
  • Total fat – 0g
  • Sodium – 120mg
  • Sugars – 18g
  • Protein – 14g

I think … this is a good “transition yogurt”. If you are used to the sweeter yogurt, you may want stop here on your way to full-blown Greek yogurt land. The texture is a lot smoother than the “extra thick” traditional Greek yogurt. And even though I have never had a honey-flavored yogurt, it added just enough sweet taste to get me over the bitterness. The downside – the amount of sodium. Thank you Yoplait! The experiment continues .. :)

  1. Courtney says:

I’ve not been sold on Yoplait Greek yet, however, Chobani has the best hands down. It has a comparable price and rates much higher than any I’ve ever tried.

  2. I am a greek yogurt beginner as well and holy S is that yoplait good stuff! You should try the dannon oikos – some of it is crazy thick, kinda like eating paste, but the key lime is the perfect consistency and sweetness – super yummy!
